An opportunity has arisen within RWG Advanced Remanufacturing Business for a Workshop Assistant. The successful candidate will be based at Dyce, Aberdeen and will report to the Department Supervisor. The primary function will be to perform a variety of tasks to assist workshop processing of gas turbine components. Additionally, assist supervision with production planning, preventative maintenance and ensuring housekeeping is kept to a high standard.

An overview of your day
* Cleaning components using mechanical parts washers and manually degreasing of components.
* Use of oven to dry components.
* Preparation of parts using blast cabinets.
* Booking in a variety of engine components on Maximo operating system.
* Booking in consumables using the Oracle system.
* Using forklifts / stacker truck to load and unload materials.
* Ensure that the correct standards of material handling are always observed.
* Organise own workload whilst ensuring workshop remains organised and efficient.
* Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and perform other related or comparable duties as assigned (5’s).
* The successful candidate would work dayshift.
What we need from you
* Experience in a similar role or workshop / practical work experience would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
* A mechanical background is useful; however, full training will be provided.
* Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* A good knowledge of HS&E procedures and COSHH assessments, etc.
* Previous forklift truck experience is advantageous (training will be given).
* Driving licence.
