English Language ASSESSOR,
Hybrid working, London (one day a week on campus)
12 Month FTC. Monday to Friday (+ some Saturdays) 9am-5.30pm
Working within our QA Higher Education business, you will have the skills, qualifications, and experience to carry out English Language testing with our potential undergraduate and postgraduate students. The assessments will be carried out both face-to-face and online. You will also be involved with test invigilation, proofreading, and general administration, including typing, scanning, and filing.
What you’ll get up to: Ideally, you will have either an English Language Examiner or an English Language Teacher background and hold relevant qualifications as listed below. You will enjoy engaging with students, making the learners feel relaxed, ensuring their student journey is an enjoyable one, no matter the assessment outcome.
Our role is predominantly Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm with some Saturdays required throughout the year. (Saturday working paid extra)
With your excellent communication skills, you will be organised, have good planning and delivery skills, be self-motivated, an excellent team player, and possess an adaptable and confident manner.
The day to day:
1. Administer EL tests and other required interviews and tests on time and to a high quality – mainly online.
2. Test invigilation and marking.
3. All relevant admin work to the department e.g., typing, scanning, proofreading, filing, etc.
4. Contribute to the development of new tests.
5. Ensure full compliance with all internal and external testing protocols.
6. Maintain full auditable records of all English Language testing activities.
What you’ll bring to the team:
1. Experience of English Language testing is highly preferred.
2. Experience of teaching EL exam preparation courses, e.g., IELTS, PTE, TEFL, FCE, CAE, etc.
3. Experienced EFL/TESOL Teacher.
4. Qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Foreign Languages, i.e., CELTA or DELTA.
5. Experience of developing testing and teaching materials.
6. Extensive knowledge of CEFR and EFL levels.
7. Ability to deliver English Language support classes.
