Job Description: As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs. Your role will involve assisting with classroom activities, implementing individualized learning plans, and promoting a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs. Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies. Support students with personal care needs where required. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to adapt classroom materials and activities. Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians. Encourage student independence and confidence in learning activities. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Person Specification: Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to varying needs and situations within the classroom. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
