The Brecknock Society and Museum Friends is a county history society focusing on the understanding and study of the history and culture of Brecknockshire. It organises talks, lectures, events and study days; it produces an annual journal; and supports the work of the museum at Y Gaer in Brecon.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management of day-to-day financial matters, e.g., prompt payment of bills.
2. Reporting on the Society's financial position to the Executive Council (the board of trustees), which meets four times a year.
3. Preparation and scrutiny of annual accounts for the Society's AGM.
4. Liaison with the Society's banks.
5. Completion of gift aid return to HMRC.
6. Liaison with the Society's other officer trustees: Chair, Council Secretary, Membership Secretary, Events Secretary, and Editor of the Society's journal, Brycheiniog, to enable them to fulfil their roles.
7. Oversight of the Society's policies on Expenses, Donations, and Grants.
8. Attendance at Executive Council meetings and other periodic online meetings.
