T&RS Engineering is a rolling stock engineering consultancy, specialising in maintenance optimisation and strategy, audit support and embracing a digital, green railway. We supply reliable and diverse engineering support to Train Operating Companies, Rolling Stock Leasing Companies and other Rail Service Providers. In 2023, T&RS Engineering entered into an exciting new phase by joining the Rendel and Ingerop Group, becoming part of a major international Engineering Consultancy, and deepening and strengthening our technical skills and geographic coverage. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our highly qualified team in Doncaster. As a project Engineer you will be responsible for delivering and managing a variety of projects for our growing client base from across the UK rail industry with respect to the maintenance, overhaul and engineering of fleets of traction & rolling stock. Reporting to the Engineering and Operations Director, the Project Engineer will be expected to act as the Project Manager as well as delivery of the engineering work packages as part of a team. Your responsibilities will include: Project management and delivery of technical work within a specified project Delivery of Maintenance or Overhaul Optimisation on fleets of traction & rolling stock Production of technical documentation and reports Predominantly office based but offsite work is required throughout the UK Chair meetings with clients and other industry professionals at all seniority levels Maintain a continuous communication with clients in the development and delivery of projects Undertake a vehicle inspection on a variety of Rolling Stock/ Plant Equipment Undertake Risk Assessments and Risk Analysis relating to engineering change Analysis of maintenance costs, identifying proposals to increase the ratio between performance & cost Analysis of failure trends/ frequencies and identification of root causes Perform duties as directed by senior management from time to time To be successful, you will have the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge in some of the following areas: Proficient knowledge of planning, managing and delivering projects on time and to budget Ability to communicate and present yourself in front of peers and customers. Practical experience of rolling stock engineering and/or maintenance Excellent technical report writing skills Experience in undertaking process and production audits Fleet engineering experience Knowledge of modern rolling stock and systems Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with a professional body (or working towards) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or HND with significant relevant experience At least 5 years relevant experience Strong experience in Microsoft Office Familiarity with rail industry standards What we offer in return: Competitive salary and benefits An excellent pension plan Company bonus scheme Company heath care benefits scheme Continuing professional development
