This position is ideally suited to those who have experience in SEN environments or are passionate about building a career in inclusive education. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with pupils who require additional support due to a variety of special educational needs, such as Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Speech and Language Difficulties, and SEMH challenges. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the learning, engagement, and well-being of pupils with identified SEN. Working collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to implement tailored interventions. Encouraging pupils to develop independence and social skills. Supporting with emotional regulation strategies and positive behaviour management. Recording and reporting pupil progress in line with school policies. Assisting with personal care needs, where appropriate. Upholding safeguarding procedures and maintaining a safe classroom environment. Job Requirements: Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties. A warm, patient, and empathetic approach to learning support. Good communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with pupils. Resilience and flexibility to respond to the varied needs of learners. A strong commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities. Relevant training or qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are desirable but not essential. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
