As a Production Support Engineer, reporting to the Production Support Lead Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve:
1. Engineering point of contact to the AAR build line and test facility, providing guidance and direction to minimize manufacturing delays.
2. Attendance at Material Review Board to disposition non-conforming hardware, working towards lead engineer approval for Non-conformance Reports (NC's).
3. Attendance at Product Integrity Council to disposition quality escapes.
4. Review of supplier queries against parts, often dealing with obsolescence issues or design questions.
5. Managing engineering changes (drawings and test procedures) through the change review board process to drive continuous improvement and incorporate effective systems engineering practices.
6. Managing corrective and preventative action (CAPA's) utilizing root cause analysis tools (5WHY's, 8D, etc.) where necessary.
7. Liaising with cross-functional engineering subject matter experts and drawing on their experience to support engineering output.
8. Being closely integrated with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Programmes functions to ensure immediate delivery priorities are met.
You will have experience in one or more of the following: mechanical, electro-mechanical, fluid, mechanisms, or structures. You are motivated and proactive, driving solutions to completion. You are able to juggle multiple tasks and remain composed under pressure.
You will hold a minimum of Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an engineering-related field plus an apprenticeship or an engineering degree with at least 5 years of post-graduate experience. You are a natural problem solver with a solutions-focused mindset and a people person able to integrate into the production support engineering team while maintaining positive relationships with all customers.
