Learning Support Assistant Roles Available!
Start: September 2024
Contract: Temporary OR Permanent following a 20-week hire period

Teaching Personnel works in partnership with a successful 11-16, mixed comprehensive trust school located in Lymington, graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted with ‘a welcoming and inclusive ethos’. This term the departments began working together more, to support the individual needs of students and are now seeking to recruit additional Learning Support Assistants to join the team from the new academic year in September.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide support to individual students who have Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs). Such students may have a variety of special educational needs, ranging from social communication difficulties, autism, dyslexia, or behaviour issues. You would primarily be supporting these students on a 1:1 or small group basis within a class setting, following the instructions of the class teacher.
Experience working with young people with special educational needs or experience of social communication difficulties would be beneficial, but not essential. The school is looking for passionate people who have a strong desire to support young people in overcoming their barriers to learning. Candidates must have a high standard of communication, numeracy, and literacy and be able to promote these effectively to ensure we deliver outstanding academic outcomes for our young people.
Working in a school is not essential; however, this school in Lymington does look to give passionate individuals a chance to begin their career in education. They also highly value any personal experience with children and SEN requirements, or other transferrable skills such as sports coaching.
If you feel you have the passion and desire to really make a difference to a young person’s educational experience, please apply now with your CV!
