Job Description:
The Engineering Director will be responsible for:
1. Leading and managing a development team, leveraging staff expertise, and integrating activities. Acting as a liaison between business, project management, and technical staff to ensure standards meet requirements.
2. Collaborating with remote development and analysis staff, setting clear goals, delegating, and providing feedback and coaching to maximize team skills.
3. Working with Payment Product Development management to formulate, plan, and execute strategic initiatives.
4. Building seamless workflows with other department managers to ensure resource management and timely project delivery.
5. Ensuring project objectives align with quality standards, strategies, and goals through collaboration with other organizational managers.
6. Managing relationships with Product, Client Support Services, and PMO offices to maintain effective collaboration.
7. Keeping senior management informed of progress and obstacles.
8. Handling daily activities like logistics, coordination, coaching, recruiting, planning, and operations.
9. Mentoring team members in development best practices.
10. Overseeing end-to-end project planning and execution, including specifications, architecture, and testing.
11. Facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching team members on Agile principles.
12. Influencing change to enhance team performance sustainably.
This is a hybrid position. Days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* 10+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 7+ years with an advanced degree, or 4+ years with a PhD, or 13+ years relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
* 10-14+ years in IT, with at least 5 years in development, customer support, and automation.
* Minimum 3 years in leadership roles.
* Experience in agile project management for scalable, high-availability systems, preferably in payments or finance.
* Understanding of Scrum, development methodologies, container technologies, databases, CI/CD, and mainframe systems is a plus.
* Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and independent working skills.
