Finance Manager
College location: This is a Cross-College role that is predominantly based at East Surrey College (Redhill) but with occasional travel to John Ruskin College (Croydon).
Salary: Subject to qualifications, skills and experience.
Hours: Full time (37 hours/week).
We are currently seeking to appoint an organised and enthusiastic Finance Manager to join our professional and knowledgeable Finance department.
Working closely with the Director of Finance (College Group), you will oversee the Colleges' reconciliations and reporting, and act as a point of escalation whenever required.
You will also review and approve all transactional finance activity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking, and ensure ‘month-end’ deadlines are met and accounts are reconciled in a timely manner. In addition to this, you will review operational finance and payroll processes, making recommendations for control and efficiency improvements.
The successful candidate must:
* Be a Qualified Accountant (CCAB/CIMA), or have completed AAT Level 4.
* Have previous management or supervisory experience of transactional finance staff.
* Have previous payroll experience.
* Have excellent IT knowledge, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
* Have Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent.
Previous experience within an education environment is also desirable.
