Our Restructuring / Capital Structure Solutions team originates, structures, advises and executes loan, high yield bond and equity financings for corporate clients and financial sponsors, including stressed and distressed financings (DIP, Exits and Rescue financings), M&A transactions, liability management and restructurings. The Team serves as intermediaries between the debt capital markets (including sales, trading, research, and buyside investors) and our issuing clients. Given underwriting requirements for many of the transactions, the group works closely with many parts of the firm including Investment Banking Coverage and Industry Groups, Credit, Capital Markets, Research, amongst others teams.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with a very strong base of investment banking technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, they will thoroughly enjoy working with a diverse group of people both at our clients and internally within our firm.
Responsibilities
The role combines many of the features of classic investment banking and sales and trading. This person will develop outstanding modeling, client relationship and new business generation skills. This person will be an integral member of a small, dynamic team and will be actively involved in managing transaction processes, developing models and analyses, and working across divisions on a variety of projects simultaneously.
This person will work closely with senior bankers in preparing written and oral presentations, running analytics, developing credit information for ratings agencies and investors, reviewing legal and other offering documents, and assisting in the valuation and financing associated with restructuring transactions.
Qualifications
* At least 3 years of experience in investment banking (or related financial position)
* Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including modeling experience
* Good presentation / communication skills with ability to effectively interact with groups across divisions (e.g., traders, sales, classic bankers)
* Ability to form independent judgments and move transactions forward
* Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
* Demonstrate attention to detail
* Drive and enthusiasm with a team orientation
* Current (or desire to build) relationships in the special situations community (lawyers, advisors, investors, etc.)
