Our client requires a skilled Data Lead / Data Migration Lead for a remote 4-month contract role with further extensions.
The Business Data Lead needs evidence of leading data migration activities in a project environment. You don’t need SAP knowledge for this position as we have a separate team for that; however, you do need experience in managing data migration projects/activities and ideally have IFS experience to assist with data extraction and validation.
To support the data migration work stream and implementation, the role will be responsible for the following activities:
Objectives:
1. Lead & Manage Business Data Migration Activities: To lead and manage all activities that the business team needs to complete to provide a complete, validated load file to the SAP team. Responsibility will cover management of data extraction from the source system, validation of extracted data, cleansing of extracted data, and manual enhancements to complete the required upload templates.
2. Data Extraction: To extract data from the source system (IFS) for the approved objects listed on the data object register.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Ensure business sign-off of DOMS documents is completed for all in-scope data objects.
2. Ensure that data owners, reconcilers, and analysts are clearly defined for all in-scope data objects and that they understand their roles and responsibilities.
3. Ensure that the dependencies between in-scope data objects are understood and managed by business stakeholders in terms of data migration strategies, e.g., purchase orders can only be created for migrated vendors.
4. Coordinate and communicate all legacy to SAP data mapping documents, e.g., legacy vendor to SAP vendor.
5. Work closely with all business stakeholders to ensure data gap issues are resolved efficiently and timely, aligned to the wider project delivery schedule.
6. Work closely with all business stakeholders to ensure data cleanse activities are undertaken efficiently and timely, aligned to the wider project delivery schedule.
7. Ensure that all data-related queries, including mapping and transition from existing solutions, are proactively managed to conclusion.
8. Work closely and effectively with all stakeholders on data-related matters, including:
1. Project Team
2. RSME stakeholders across the business and functional units
3. Technical teams supporting the extraction of data from legacy systems
9. Ensure data compliance issues are fully satisfied, including any regulatory, security, and audit requirements.
10. Manage the activities of the data analysts and supporting staff for all in-scope disciplines.
11. Represent the project on behalf of all data-related issues with all stakeholders across the business and functional disciplines.
12. Identify constraints, assumptions, risks, decisions, dependencies, and issues relating to the data and provide recommendations on ways to mitigate any risks or issues found.
13. Ensure all activities are managed on time and to the required quality.
