Join Our Team as a Deputy Site Manager at Clacton Maintenance Depot
The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Deputy Site Manager to ensure safety procedures are carried out efficiently to enable work being undertaken by a 3rd party. In this role, you will be on the Clacton Depot site on a shift-by-shift basis, acting as the accountable manager to maintain a safe and efficient train maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Open and close the site per schedule in accordance with roster; manage waste streams and coordinate oil waste collection.
* Perform overhead line isolations and implement depot protection measures with 3rd party maintainers.
* Conduct regular checks and audits of 3rd party compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
* Report defects in plant and equipment; act as line manager for incidents and initial investigations.
* Co-ordinate between 3rd party maintainer and the rest of Greater Anglia on trains arriving and departing depot.
* Serve as Fire Warden and First Aider; ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
* Oversee generator operations for train shore supply and coordinate train arrivals/departures at the depot.
What We Are Looking For
* Have a friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively.
* Are calm under pressure, able to think on their feet, well-organized with the ability to prioritize workloads effectively.
* Have an inquisitive nature with attention to detail.
* Possess a "can-do" attitude and enjoy working as part of a team at all levels; competence in safety critical work.
* Have team spirit and bring your unique self to strengthen our team and foster a positive work environment.
* Possess IOSH or equivalent safety qualification and have accident investigation training.
* Have knowledge of fleet maintenance, operational activities, and health and safety regulations applicable to the railway and workplace.
