About the School
Clubmoor Nursery is well-established and has been serving the local community of Norris Green, Liverpool since 2006 and offers high quality childcare for children aged between 2-4yrs.
About the Role
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
* To support the nursery management in the delivery of a high-quality service to children from two to five and their families.
* To have an awareness of the Early Years Foundation Stage welfare requirements.
* To observe, plan, prepare, implement, evaluate nursery activities and complete assessments (including 2yr progress checks) using your knowledge of child development, birth to five matters, development matters and EYFS.
* Share information with parents/carers regarding their child’s development.
* Work in partnership with parents/carers to promote the learning and development of all children that attend nursery.
* To support the nursery team to be fully inclusive of children with SEN and disabilities.
* Ensure all children's learning journeys are up to date.
* To undertake a Key Person Role with a group of children.
* To comply with all record keeping systems and nursery policies and procedures.
* To participate in PDR / Supervision and staff development as required by the Management Team.
* Encourage parents to become actively involved in all aspects of nursery life and ensure that they are signposted to services to improve life chances.
* To be aware of the Equal Opportunities Policy and adhere to the policy at all times.
* Ensure all Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies are followed, and these are in line with LSCP.
* To attend and contribute to regular staff meetings and training sessions.
* Be flexible in a way to meet the needs of the nursery and be able to cover sickness and training at short notice.
* To carry out, as necessary, any other duty deemed to commensurate with the grade and status of the post and skills and experience of the post holder.
* Attend meetings to support children and their families alongside other professionals.
* Good communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and share ideas around developing the nursery and its vision.
* To develop play plans and individual targeted support for children and families.
* Attend Consortia meetings and apply for support including EHCP’s.
Personal Qualities
* Must hold a Level 2 or 3 Qualification in Childcare.
* A commitment to undertake further training and development.
* Experience of working with children aged 2-5 years in a day care or education setting.
* Work in Partnership with Parents/Carers to support children's learning and development.
* Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Knowledge of Birth to Five Matters and Development Matters.
* To support and adhere to safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
* An ability to support children’s social and emotional development.
* An ability to support positive behaviour management strategies.
* Ability to maintain observations, planning and assessments.
* Good verbal and written communication skills to support completion of children’s records, work with parents and other professionals.
* To work as an effective team member.
* Commitment to inclusion.
* To support and include children with disabilities and SEN within the nursery setting.
* Commitment to inclusion, equality and partnership with children, parents and carers.
* To work flexibly to support the overall operation of the nursery, including occasional evenings and weekends if needed.
* Meet and discuss with other professionals the child’s needs and have a good standard of comprehension.
