Job Description CF Children, Education and Justice Services Social Worker Waverley Court Salary: £37,626 – £44,257 Hours: 36 per week The Edinburgh Family Support Partnership is offering an exciting and unique opportunity for qualified social workers to be part of transformational change within the City of Edinburgh. A number of posts are available, and these are funded by the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund until 30 June 2026.It should be noted that these posts are permanent, however, subject to a service redesign and the above funding coming to an end, it may be that the postholder is transferred to another social work post within the service after 30 June 2026. The Edinburgh Family Support Partnership is a collaboration between City of Edinburgh Council, Children and Families Social Work, Children 1st, Barnardos, The Citadel Youth Centre, Edinburgh Community Food and Safe Families. The aim of the collaboration is to develop multi-disciplinary, community- based teams in each of the four localities across the city. We aim to address the “missing middle” between universal and statutory services, offering reflexive, whole family support, which is empowering, relationship-based, rooted in GIRFEC and which builds upon existing universal services. A key element of this innovative project is to develop and embed a Community Social Work approach which enables social workers to be present, visible and accessible within communities. We will work alongside families using asset and strength-based approaches to build individual, family and community capacity. Role/ Task You will be visionary, creative and highly motivated You will have the responsibility of undertaking children in need assessments and implementing interventions with families at an early stage to prevent them escalating to statutory social work. You will be required to provide intensive family support working within a multi-disciplinary team. You will have the responsibility within the project to map, and engage with families and communities, using strength-based, community social work approaches. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
