We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Histopathology Consultant to join a dynamic and supportive team in West Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the high-quality diagnostic services within a busy and well-respected pathology department. You will play a key role in providing expert clinical support in histopathology, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert clinical leadership in Histopathology, interpreting and reporting on a wide range of samples, including routine, urgent, and complex cases.
2. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and offer guidance on pathological findings.
3. Engage in the training and mentorship of junior staff, including medical trainees and pathologists in training.
4. Maintain and improve departmental standards, ensuring compliance with professional guidelines and safety protocols.
5. Contribute to clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
6. Liaise closely with other healthcare professionals, ensuring high levels of communication and collaboration to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
2. Relevant experience as a consultant in Histopathology, with significant diagnostic expertise.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
5. Evidence of involvement in teaching, research, or audit activities.
6. Experience in specific subspecialties within Histopathology, such as Head & Neck, Breast, GI pathology, Lung, Gynae, and Medical Renal.
7. Active participation in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
