Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding & Family Support Service
Our Client Southwark Council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Safeguarding & Family Support Service Team.
The vacancy is for a Senior Social Worker in the Safeguarding and Family Support Service at Southwark Children's Services. You will be working with families, where children are supported by Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked after Children plans, which could also be in pre-proceedings or care proceedings.
The candidate will need to be compliant with the London Pledge and you will also need to have:
1. A recognised social work qualification
2. Current registration with Social Work England
3. Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance and working together to safeguard children
4. A full understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors and risk and protective factors.
As a Senior Social Worker you will need:
1. To provide a comprehensive, effective, integrated, systemically-informed social work service, within Southwark's practice framework, managing complex cases.
2. To deliver excellent social work practice, assessing complex need, planning and working purposefully with families, support networks and other professionals to manage risk, safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
3. To provide a social work service which is both relationship-based and which responds in a timely manner within statutory guidelines.
4. To work collaboratively with the team, supporting the development of best practice and confident practitioners through coaching and mentoring of students, newly qualified social workers and less experienced practitioners.
What you need:
1. QSW Status - including qualification, Social Work England registration and completed ASYE
2. A minimum of 2 years' experience
3. Right to work in the UK
