Telecoms Project Engineer (082dm) –Nationwide - £25,000- £35,000 DOE The Project Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager and be an integral part of a team that includes Principal Engineers, Project Engineers, Infrastructure and Maintenance Engineers, and Project Managers. This team is responsible for delivering bespoke technical solutions and maintaining high standards in wireless communication systems and infrastructure. The role will require a blend of design, installation, commissioning, and documentation tasks, as well as client-facing responsibilities in pre-sales support and ongoing project maintenance. Our client is looking for those who live close to the following areas: Bridgewater, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and London Key Responsibilities: •Collaborate within a team to oversee engineering activities, focusing on project delivery, including surveys, design, installation, and documentation. •Design technical solutions that meet customer specifications, including low-level designs and bespoke systems tailored to site and customer requirements. •Conduct technical surveys for wireless communication designs and provide the necessary documentation for Principal Engineer sign-off. •Deliver installation projects for complex wireless communication systems, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and standards. •Lead project installations, ensuring compliance with project requirements and maintaining focus on project delivery standards. •Respond to customer-reported incidents and provide systems and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately from the service team. •Assist the Sales team in technical pre-sales activities, contributing to bids and tenders. •Support the creation of "as-built" documentation post-installation for Principal Engineer review and sign-off. •Ensure seamless multi-technology solution delivery and support across Radio, IP, Fibre, Cellular, Unified Comms, Wireless, and M2M technologies. •Regularly update project documentation in a timely and thorough manner. •Be available for on-call duties and cover project tasks across the UK, which may include working away from home. •Promote continuous learning and development to stay updated in a fast-changing technical environment. •Follow all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality) standards and ensure legal compliance in all activities. •Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a high standard of project delivery in terms of quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. •Provide support to the Service team during periods of increased workload or staffing shortages. •Maintain company vehicles to the highest standards and uphold the company image when interacting with customers. •Comply with all company working practices and complete required training as necessary. Key Qualifications and Experience: •Solid technical background with strong theoretical and practical engineering experience, particularly in radio systems and infrastructure. •Expertise in Unified Comms, Network, and IT systems, with strong knowledge of industry standards and technologies. •Experience with DMR Tier 2 and Tier 3 radio systems, including infrastructure-focused work and familiarity with devices from Hytera, TAIT, Simoco, Motorola, and Axell Wireless. •Proficiency in programming radio templates for systems such as Hytera, TAIT, Simoco, and Motorola. •Knowledge of designing and commissioning Axell/PBE equipment across a variety of RF technologies, including TETRA, DMR, Analogue, VHF, and Cellular. •Experience with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) design in environments such as airports, tunnels, train stations, and shopping centres. •Strong understanding of networking topologies, DMR/PMR software applications, and TCP/IP stack. •Familiarity with Cellular/Wi-Fi technologies and network troubleshooting. •Excellent client-facing skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities. •Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. •Valid manual driving license and the ability to work under pressure to deliver complex projects. •A five-year employment or gap history to qualify for an airside pass. •CSCS card (Green) required; SC clearance is an advantage. •Experience with Wi-Fi installation and maintenance is beneficial. Working Conditions: •Flexible working hours to accommodate out-of-hours project delivery. •Occasional UK-wide travel and overnight stays may be required.
