Come and join the Redcar & Cleveland Community Team (Treatment & Intervention & Community Hub) who are in the middle of an exciting community transformation of services. We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our journey to change and improve the local community's initial contact with our services with a "no wrong door approach" for a period of 12 month fixed term period.
We encourage and welcome discussions and the opportunity to visit our new working multi agency bases. Within this role we will support you to expand on your knowledge and expertise with opportunity to develop special interests such as substance misuse and psychological interventions.
The interventions team will provide complex interventions supporting people with severe and enduring mental health conditions whilst our identified multi agency community hubs will support with short term interventions and sign posting to other partner agencies and voluntary partners.
You will be enthusiastic and highly motivated with experience in the delivery of high-quality planned care. You will be a valued member of the team and will develop excellent working relationships with our partners and stakeholders.
You can expect regular supervision and support from the collective leadership.
Main duties of the job
Nursing applicants should already hold NMC registration and have successfully completed their preceptorship programme. Please note: Newly qualified Nurses or those due to qualify will be recruited via a separate process.
As a member of the team you will provide a service to those individuals who present with mental health issues, with an emphasis on psychologically informed brief interventions.
You must be willing to work collaboratively with service users of varying ages and differing needs as well as their carers and families.
You will need to have significant experience of working with people with mental ill health in a care setting, delivering clinical interventions specific to care pathways.
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are required to have the ability and experience to manage complex cases in partnership with other agencies providing care coordination in line with CPA. In addition, you will further develop skills in psychological therapies, psychosocial interventions and care management.
You will encourage ongoing engagement from all staff utilising effective leadership skills. You are required to use your own initiative and make decisions independently for this post.
There is an expectation of commitment to the development of high quality care, and to engage in quality improvement activities. You will be supported with regular management and clinical supervision.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current professional registration with an approved body
* Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to post
* For registered nurses: MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education or willingness to work towards. Qualification must be achieved within agreed timescale.
* Trained Clinical Supervisor (within agreed timescale).
* Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
* Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area
Experience
* Working with people with mental ill-health
* Working in a person centred therapeutic role
* Working collaboratively with service users and their family/carers
* Working in a multi-disciplinary team
* Working in partnership with other agencies
Knowledge
* Evidence based knowledge of best practice of caring for service users in designated field
* Understanding of relevant legislation e.g. MHA/MCA
* Understanding of safeguarding and its application in practice
* Awareness of risk assessment and its application in practice
* Awareness of psychological models of care and treatment
* Awareness of research and evidence-based practice in designated field
