We are a children's home and short breaks service for children with disabilities and behaviours that challenge. As a Shift Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to positively impact and improve the quality of life of our young people. Our young people develop independence through life skills and enjoy activities such as visiting Legoland, Tapnell Farm, IOW Zoo, Blackgang Chine, Amazon World, Marwell Zoo, and much more.
This role is suitable for anyone passionate about supporting young people in developing independence and enriching their lives through activities and experiences. We are looking for a passionate and proactive Shift Supervisor to join our team. This rewarding role involves supporting children with behaviours that challenge and complex medical needs to achieve their full potential.
For the role, you will need the following skills:
1. Leadership skills
2. Organisational skills
3. Experience supporting behaviours that challenge
4. Leading medication rounds
5. Able to complete supervision with support workers
6. Planning and setting up activities for a wide range of young people
7. Being a young person’s key worker, completing and updating care plans and attending meetings and reviews
8. Good communication skills
9. Completing reports on young people’s progress
10. Supporting our young people with their daily routine, accessing activities, personal care, supporting with medical needs, developing new skills, and most importantly, ‘having fun’
11. Using your passion and being proactive in sharing your ideas to improve the quality of life of our young people
12. Providing a ‘home away from home’ for all our young people, following our mission’s statement: ‘We nurture, care for and safeguard our children while supporting individuality and encouraging adventure’
Working at Beaulieu House, you will be supported to gain the necessary qualifications and skills to succeed in your role, including the opportunity to complete your level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care. Many of our team have progressed into Deputy Manager, Registered Manager, and Social Worker roles.
The Service is open 52 weeks of the year, and we work to a responsive rota which provides staff with 6 weeks' rota at a time. The successful candidates will work a mixture of earlies, lates, and weekend shifts. Our shift patterns are 07:00 – 14:30 and 14:15 – 22:00.
