Role Title: Warehouse Manager

What will this role achieve?
Located at the Carlisle site reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the role holder must be able to manage the demands of frequent operational changes. They will be responsible for coaching, developing, and leading direct reports - Supervisors, Advanced Team Members, Stock Controller, and Operators. In addition, they will also be responsible for achieving targets and business Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) within the role remit.
The Warehouse Manager will:
1. Control the site receipt, storage, and movement of materials to the production process to ensure successful completion of the factory production plan.
2. Manage budget and operational overhead costs for site warehousing and distribution.
3. Manage the storage and movement of finished goods to maximise customer service through effective management of site movement and storage control.
4. Work closely with Supplies Manager & Supply Chain Manager.
What will be your key deliverables?
1. Responsible for delivering Conformance to Plan.
2. Ensure the smooth running and efficiency of all aspects of the warehouse function and its service to manufacturing and operations.
3. Maintain stock accuracy and adherence to the weekly stock counting schedule.
4. Plan and prioritise work & ensure maximum use of resources.
5. Manage communication with the Distribution Centre.
6. Motivate and lead direct reports, identifying, evaluating & developing initiatives to ensure skill & competency levels are maintained to deliver KPIs.
7. Address performance issues positively and remain focused on main priorities.
8. Ensure compliance with company & statutory regulations & guidelines, with an emphasis on manual handling.
9. Proactively promote a behavioural safety culture.
10. Drive improvements to FLT driver safety on site.
11. Recruit Warehouse Operatives.
12. Manage absence and disciplinary procedures in accordance with policy.
Bring your experience:
1. Proven experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
2. Experience of successfully managing teams.
3. Trained in systems such as SAP, Autostore, Sugatrak, Time & Attendance, Production Planning.
4. Knowledge of distribution processes.
5. Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) knowledge.
6. FLT/Mechanical handling experience.
7. IT literate and confident in using a variety of systems.
8. Experience of working in a highly unionised environment.
9. Experience of servicing all aspects of manufacturing, including Waste Management.
10. Industry recognised Safety & Hygiene courses completed.
What will the interview process be?
1. 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview.
2. 2nd stage interview – 60 minutes technical interview.
