About the Opportunity We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join a busy Payroll team on a permanent basis. Based is Stone, Staffordshire, you will play a fundamental role in the co-ordination of all payroll operations across multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. You will operate at a strategic level as a senior member of the Finance Accounting Team, as well as manage and develop the payroll team. You will also be expected to be able to cover all aspects of payroll processing in order to cover absence. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed for the Job CIPP member with an IPP Diploma in Payroll Management, or equivalent experience Extensive knowledge of Payroll systems, tax legislation, controls and compliance Proven ability to manage Payroll projects and meet tight deadlines Strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with staff at all levels Experience of implementing the NJC pay awards to include Chief Officers, Fire Brigades and LGS Green Book Terms. Strong IT proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Excel Knowledge of the data provision of the Fire Fighter Pension Schemes and Local Government Pension Scheme ideally About You Previous payroll experience is essential Previous experience in a payroll supervisory/management role is essential Strong numeracy skills and a keen eye for detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. Experience of working in a Fire Service Payroll Section is desirable.
