This permanent role based in Southampton involves global delivery and requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand and take ownership of allocated tasks or projects following sign-off.
2. Plan procurement of resources, materials, and labour with approval from the Head of Projects.
3. Maintain professional and consistent communication with the client.
4. Lead project meetings, from startup to close down, including regular and ad-hoc site meetings.
5. Monitor project performance according to the specification, budget, and timeline.
6. Produce and provide regular project and financial reports to stakeholders.
7. Review labour and resource levels on site and recommend necessary adjustments.
8. Ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to on nominated sites.
9. Take full responsibility for the delivery of small projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
10. Produce high-level and detailed project plans for pre-delivery and on-site delivery activities.
Job Requirements:
1. Experience in project management, particularly within the marine sectors such as Cruise, Ferry, Defence, and Superyacht, but open to other industries and roles such as construction/housing and site management.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Project).
3. Strong planning, time management, and prioritisation skills.
4. Effective communication skills and the ability to influence in a variety of situations.
5. Understanding of outfit planning and delivery onboard marine vessels.
6. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
7. Results-oriented approach to work delivery and output.
8. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and working drawings along with written scopes of work.
Additional Requirements:
1. Willingness to travel globally for project delivery and surveys, often at short notice.
2. Good communication skills, both spoken and written English.
3. Right to live and work in the UK.
4. Bachelor's Degree in engineering or project management preferred but not essential.
5. Experience managing large teams of tradespersons.
6. Employees will be subject to unannounced alcohol and drug testing.
