Due to expansion, we have a number of roles available, including personal injury fee earner positions.
Robert James Solicitors are appointed as panel solicitors for a well-known insurance company to assist their policyholders in pursuing an injury claim.
You have positions in both our RTA and ELPL Departments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for a manageable caseload of 150 - 200 Personal Injury RTA claims, making use of the firm’s Case Management System (Proclaim) and using the agreed internal procedures and practices.
* To progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely, and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
* To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
* Take a practical but commercial approach to settlements and advising clients as to litigation/cost risks.
* To achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to, for example, profit costs and settlements without compromising the firm’s integrity.
* To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers, and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed.
* Perform to a high level in a target-oriented environment.
* To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.
Experience & Knowledge:
* Knowledge and experience of RTA Personal Injury cases.
* Capable of running RTA Personal Injury cases from cradle to grave including post-issue work (Part 7 and Part 8 (Stage 3 cases).
* Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to build relationships with clients.
* Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Must be comfortable with issuing and settlement targets.
* 2-7 years PQE as a solicitor (or equivalent).
* Experience of working with LVI cases.
* Experience of working with credit hire.
