Clinical Educator A&E Band 7 - 24 hours available - WCH
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking clinical Educator to join our already established team of qualified band 7 nurses within the Emergency Department at West Cumberland Hospital Whitehaven. We are looking for a clinician with commitment, flexibility, enthusiasm, excellent clinical skills, and who are keen to work as part of a hardworking and dedicated team.
Main duties of the job
Deliver a comprehensive orientation and induction programme for qualified nursing staff, assistant practitioners and Health Care Assistants, acting as a clinical role model, working collaboratively to develop and deliver an ongoing programme of training and education for the A&E department. Contribute to the development of department policies, guidelines and scope of nursing practice.
To be a clinical expert in all levels of Emergency Care Nursing and to provide “hands on” supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
In conjunction with team leaders and clinical staff of the unit, be responsible for the assessment, supervision and development of all members of the nursing team. To undertake audits and reviews of practice and policies within the unit.

Qualifications
* First level Registered Nurse with active registration.
* Teaching certificate or equivalent.
* Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider.
* Specialist post registration certificate in clinical speciality or equivalent.
* Leadership certificate or equivalent.
* Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.
* Masters in education.
Knowledge & Experience
* Delivery of formal/informal teaching programmes or of supporting training others.
* Experience of supporting newly qualified health care professionals in a clinical setting.
* Mentoring and setting learning objectives.
* Monitoring and setting standards.
