Your new place of work
Sefton is a vibrant local authority on a journey of aspiration and ambition as it works towards delivering its exciting Vision 2030. This journey is shared with our partners and communities as we strive to ensure Sefton is a confident and connected Borough.
Sefton is the northern most borough of the Liverpool City Region with more than 273,000 residents. Boasting 22 miles of stunning coastline as well as spanning the busy port of Liverpool means that Sefton is a diverse and exciting Borough.
About the role
Do you have experience of delivering frontline operational services to improve local environmental quality? Are you passionate about the environment?
We are looking to appoint a Waste Management & Street Cleansing Officer to join the service. You will be responsible for the deployment and supervision of teams to ensure that statutory obligations and service plans are delivered within the service area across the Borough.
As part of the wider service, you will play a key role in supporting the service to meet the requirements of the Environment Act 2021 regarding the roll out of simpler recycling principles and the implementation of food waste collections. Additionally, you will also support the continued promotion of the management of waste through reducing, reusing and recycling.
In return we can offer a salary with incremental progression, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, 28 days annual leave, rising to 33 after 5 years, training and development opportunities and a supportive workplace culture that allows you to develop and grow.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you!
