Our client is a highly regarded civil engineering contractor specialising in infrastructure and groundworks projects across Scotland. With a strong focus on commercial and industrial developments, they have built a long-standing reputation for excellence within the local market.
Role Overview
Due to sustained growth, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will work closely with project leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality services, provide expert advice on contract conditions and commercial matters, and maintain accurate financial control.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
* Maximise valuations and ensure timely certification and payment.
* Manage contract variations promptly and efficiently.
* Forecast costs and value across all trades.
* Coordinate with the operational team to secure labour, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Monitor on-site progress and issue necessary notices in line with contract procedures and timelines.
* Review and ensure quotations comply with specifications, obtaining competitive bids.
* Prepare and finalise Final Accounts.
* Accurately manage subcontractor accounts to enhance contract efficiency and financial performance.
Requirements
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
* 2–3 years of demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering projects.
* Familiarity with NEC contracts is advantageous.
* A full UK driving licence.
