Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Domiciliary Care Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care, including those in nursing homes, hospice care, and home care settings. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with dementia, ensuring they receive the best possible care in a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive atmosphere.
* Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and physical well-being.
* Uphold the dignity and respect of all clients while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
* Previous experience in senior care, home care, or a related field is preferred.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
* Certification in medication administration or willingness to obtain certification is required.
* A valid driving licence is essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
