The Role & Key Responsibilities
Applications are invited from staff to fill a maternity cover vacancy for the role of Intelligence Researcher within the Gatwick Operations Intelligence Unit. The successful applicant will work in a small team focusing on crime and criminals at the airport. Gatwick is one of the busiest airports in the world and the second largest airport in the UK. In addition to the 25,000 members of staff who work here, over 45 million passengers pass through each year, all presenting new challenges and rewards. The post holder will be responsible for researching, in an accurate and timely manner, internal and external sources, including bespoke airline and airport systems and will collate and select information on incidents and crimes to assist in identifying criminal patterns, suspects and support policing activity in a diverse environment. In addition, the research of Airport CCTV will be part of your daily role.
Skills & Experience
Ideally, but not essentially, someone with an Intelligence background, you will be capable of working closely with other agencies, police forces and organisations, being proactive and tenacious to combat crime at the airport and to support operations to disrupt organised and local crime groups. With a good understanding of current legislation, including RIPA, PACE and CPIA, you will possess good communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to accurately assimilate information, sharing key aspects in a concise and coherent manner. Whilst based on a Monday to Friday post, a flexible approach to the role is required to meet operational demands.
You will either possess, or be willing to undertake SC vetting clearance.
