The Opportunity
As our client continues to deliver exciting and significant projects across their nuclear and defence sectors, their goal is to allow their engineers to focus on what they do best – delivering exceptional design solutions for their clients.
Their currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their project delivery team in Warrington (happy to consider hybrid or remote with 1-2 trips to Devonport site each month) working on a contract basis.
Contract Estimated Duration – 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
Location Warrington (hybrid or remote optional)
Your duties and responsibilities will be
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer you’ll be responsible forL:
The work packages purpose is to provide chemistry control, fill and drain of a vessel and associated process circuit by using boronated water.
Knowledge of piping design, hydraulic calculations, nuclear safety are all important aspects for this work package.
A desirable trait to have would be to have knowledge of HAZIDs, HAZOPs, FMEAs.
An understanding of functional safety and associated standards such as IEC 61511 / IEC 61508.
You’ll be required to have good mechanical services knowledge. The work package is the design and build of a process piping and treatment system, so foundational knowledge of such systems is required.
Experience of line managing designers.
Experience of working in a 3D BIM environment.
Understanding of Functional Safety.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
You’ll need to be able to obtain BPSS before starting and obtain SC-Clearance at a later date.
Worked in a highly regulated industry (preferably nuclear but not essential).
Previous functional safety experience in a highly regulated industry. It's great if you also have the following
Design experience in a highly regulated industry.
Understanding of nuclear safety.
Understanding of hazard identification processes (HAZID etc).Get in touch now
