Investor Relations Intern (London) – Summer 5
Join our Investor Relations team in London
The D. E. Shaw group seeks motivated, intellectually curious students to join our Investor Relations (IR) team as interns in our London office. As an IR intern, you’ll collaborate with a global team of investor relations professionals and learn about the firm’s investment strategies, products, and clients in an inclusive and collegial working environment. This is a ten-week program that is expected to run from June to August 5.
What you’ll do day-to-day
You’ll take on projects that require rigorous analytical thinking and creative problem solving. You might help enhance various communication efforts, conduct prospect- and investor-focused research, participate in brainstorming sessions with colleagues, or attend meetings with investors.
Who we’re looking for
1. We’re interested in highly accomplished students with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and keen analytical skills.
2. We seek individuals who excel at taking a structured and detailed approach to solving problems, communicate effectively, can drive projects forward, and have exceptional attention to detail.
3. Applicants should demonstrate a client-focused approach and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Candidates who are interested in learning more about corporate strategy, capital markets, or the economy typically thrive in this role. Experience or involvement with clubs or internships related to consulting, venture capital, economic research, or product management/strategy is a plus but not required.
5. We welcome applicants currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program or graduate degree program across all fields of study. No previous finance experience is necessary. Students who apply to this internship are usually approaching their final year of full-time study.
