We are recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a varied role, with hands on operational supervision for the Grounds Maintenance and Arboriculture services. You will be responsible for monitoring progress and performance, providing training to staff and ensuring colleagues are providing an exceptional services to our customers. Responsibilities Hands-on operational supervision of Grounds Maintenance and Arboriculture services for green spaces around our 22,000 homes. Monitor performance and service delivery to ensure quality standards and targets are met. Resolve customer complaints and maintenance issues. Provide Health & Safety training, tool-box talks, and work activity guidance. Ensure staff wear appropriate uniforms and protective clothing. Conduct on-site training for horticultural activities and equipment use. Ensure adherence to work instructions, safety, legislative, and quality requirements. Organise and supervise daily grounds maintenance and environmental services. Pre-plan resources with maintenance delivery leads. Provide daily instructions to teams. Ensure the safe return of all maintenance machinery, equipment, and tools. Perform a full range of environmental works, including landscaping. Use various grounds maintenance and arboriculture machinery, equipment, and hand tools. Monitor progress and performance. Motivate staff, monitor standards, and productivity. Address poor productivity and quality per policies. Perform on-site risk assessments and compile method statements. Ensure vehicles and machinery are well-presented and defect-free. Maintain control of stock levels and supplies Requirements Extensive experience in horticulture, arboriculture, work programming, inspection, and monitoring. Proven track record in supervising teams of operatives and contractors. Demonstrated ability to deliver training programs and toolbox talks. Practical experience with horticultural and landscaping machinery, equipment, and tools. Strong knowledge of plants, including the ability to identify and treat plant diseases and pest infestations. Experience in dealing with the public, both face-to-face and over the phone. Ability to prioritise both personal workload and team tasks. Methodical and systematic approach to problem-solving. Valid manual UK driving license with the capability to drive various vehicles, including wagons, transits, vans, ride-on mowers, and trailers.
