CI200659 - Specialist Nurse Band 6 Acute Sector: Preoperative Assessment Service and Department of Scheduled Admissions An exciting opportunity has arisen within Preoperative Assessment and Department of Scheduled Admissions for experienced senior nurses to join a nurse led team with an ethos of safety, quality improvement and person centred care. Preoperative assessment is a busy department that covers multiple surgical specialities, ensuring patients are optimised in preparation for elective surgical intervention. The Department of Scheduled Admissions admits patients to hospital on the day of their planned procedure, providing patients with a calm and quiet environment. The service is looking for diligent individuals who can work well under pressure with a fluctuating workload. We are looking to recruit nurses prepared to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate must possess extensive experience within a busy acute sector environment surgery/theatres/ITU. You must be willing to undergo in house training and assessment to gain competence in aspects of physical examination and assessment for anaesthetic. A working knowledge of IT systems used in the acute sector would be advantageous.
