Job Description
We are looking for a Plater/Welder to join our team and build products from raw resources based on a production schedule to ensure all parts fit properly and meet safety standards. The successful candidate will need to display the desire, drive, and determination to perform as part of a team. You will be given responsibility requiring you to organise your workload and be proactive. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exceptional experience.
Main activities & responsibilities:
1. Manually weld plate and structural components to high standards of quality.
2. Carry out skilled plating, fabrication, and welding work including inspection, planning, preparation, and cutting, checking/testing.
3. Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment to fabricate, repair, maintain and install metal items, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
4. Cut and generally prepare required metal/shapes and weld according to structure plans.
5. Ensure products required for assembly are present.
6. Inspect and diagnose problems and carry out appropriate testing.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
1. Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
2. 3+ years’ experience.
3. Willingness to learn.
4. Excellent communication skills and time management skills.
5. Takes pride in their work and adopts a positive attitude to work.
6. Ability to work in a small, cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
