To support the Senior Medical Workforce Advisors in providing a professional and comprehensive service to medical and dental staff. The role will include:
* Developing knowledge on junior doctor terms and conditions
* Sickness absence monitoring
* Assist in the design of rotas and check the designs put forward by medical staff, ensuring that there is compliance with New Deal and WTD (Working Time Directive)
* Plan and organise internal process for junior doctor changeover through liaising with HEIW (Health Education & Improvement Wales / SLE (Single Lead Employer) to ensure that trackers and allocation tables are accurate and services informed of fill rates and gaps, Advise staff and managers on terms and conditions of service, WTD/ New Deal, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes to relevant Employment Legislation and best practice standards.
* Monitor sickness absences of medical and dental staff & identifying any trends/ issues in sickness absences to the appropriate department and advise the Senior Medical Workforce Advisor in order that further action can be taken.
* Maintain employee records both electronic and manual and ensure that they are stored appropriately
* Ensure accuracy of information and advice when dealing with telephone and face to face queries
* Ensure that the fixed term contracts/ visa expiry process is followed for all grades and work with the Medical Workforce Assistants to ensure that the work is equally distributed.
* Be the main point of contact for HEIW/ Support SLE process
