Services are based in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Queen Victoria Centre, Morecambe. We also work closely with our GP colleagues as part of the Trust's Physiotherapy Triage Service based within the local surgeries.
AS PART OF THE INTERVIEW PROCESS THERE WILL BE A PRACTICAL COMPONENT SO THE CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND FOR INTERVIEW IN PERSON. REMOTE INTERVIEWS CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED.
Main duties of the job
As a Trust, we actively support you to develop your knowledge and skills via our Annual Development Review programme. You will also have the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced Specialist and Advanced Physiotherapists through the in-service training programme, and there is support for external courses.
We welcome applications from qualified physiotherapists with musculoskeletal experience and a valid HCPC registration. You may be working as an experienced band 5 and looking for an opportunity to progress in this specialty. We can support you to develop into this role.
This role requires active participation in the provision of Orthopaedic and Rehab weekend services.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

Person specification
Education and qualifications
* Health & Care Professions Council registered Physiotherapist
* Honours Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy approved by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/Health Professions Council
* Evidence of relevant post graduate specialist clinical education
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Experience
* Comprehensive rotational experience as a Staff grade in the core competencies within physiotherapy for example: musculo-skeletal, neurology and cardio-respiratory care
* Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills in English in a variety of settings
* Experience of working within a team
* 12 months or more experience of treating general MSK outpatients
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Evidence of commitment, motivation and adaptability
* Ability to think quickly, assess clinical situations and make decisions upon that information
* Must demonstrate a knowledge of team/group dynamics and understand the role of a Specialist Physiotherapist within a team
* Understanding of legal responsibilities within the profession
* To have a clear understanding of the role of a Specialist Physiotherapist in their approach to their professional duties
* Must be able to demonstrate basic awareness of current NHS issues
* Basic IT skills
* To have knowledge of audit tools and awareness of organizational and clinical standards in Physiotherapy
* Evidence of leadership
