About the role: The Lanes Group are looking to appoint an Trainee Operations Manager to work closely with our Operations Manager and Depot Manager in the running of the depot. You will be responsible for overseeing an operative team and supporting with tasks that the Operations Manager will carry out. Location: Sheffield Working Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week Salary: Up to £32,500pa Responsibilities- but not limited to: Ensuring operational teams are completing work in a timely and safe manner. Booking and keeping records of staff training. Planning and monitoring on staff workload Timesheet, absence, and holiday management. Conducting toolbox talks, inductions and stand down meetings as required. Ensuring all company vehicles are kept and maintained to company standards. Ensuring all fleet are serviced and MOTs covered as required. Liaising with the transport department to ensure all procedures/policies are adhered to. Ensuring all equipment is used correctly and all work carried out safely and efficiently. Conducting regular Health and Safety audits Ensure compliance on and off site with involvement of the H&S management team. Conducting Health and safety meetings and briefings Site visits to scope and assess works with a view to providing clients with advise and costs for works required Shift briefings and de-briefs Support the field engineers with both technical and practical assistance Due to the nature of the role successful applicants will be expected to participate in the On Call Rota as well as an understanding that flexibility is required surrounding work hours. About you: Previous Management/Supervisory experience Full UK Driving license – no more than 6 penalty points Excellent IT Skills with the ability to use all Microsoft Programs Excellent Organisational and planning skills Experience in ensuring maximum productivity and optimum asset usage. Good understanding of Health and Safety.
