Job description
Key accountabilities:
This key quality role providing value stream leadership will provide a key focus to supporting customers, internal quality and pro-active right first-time methodology. All Senior QEs are involved with supporting internal assembly & manufacturing operations, focusing on internal improvement activities along with efficiently delivering day to day activities.
The objective is to drive customer satisfaction by improvements to our Total Cost of Quality (TCoQ), On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery & other KPI's. You will be working closely with customers the other quality assurance team members as well as manufacturing team leaders, product leaders & manufacturing engineers.

1. This position may include managing or mentoring junior or other Quality Engineers
2. Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualification:
3. Experienced in either low volume mechanical assembly and/or operating in a precision machining batch environment
4. Strong people and motivational skills to drive improvements in all areas of responsibility
5. Expert problem solver with extensive experience of implementing effective long-term improvement
6. Excellent communicator at both the shop floor level and presenting data/action plans to senior management
7. Tenacious individual who can work in a team environment and make a positive difference to KPIs and the Quality Culture
8. Fully proficient in DMAIC, 8D, 5Y, 7 wastes or other improvement tools.
9. Fully conversant with engineering drawings and GD&T
10. The ability to work individually and as part of a team to maximise the challenges of this position is essential
11. Desirable technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualification:
12. A background of low volume assembly, precision machining of steels & castings would be advantageous
13. Knowledge of gears and gear geometry would be an advantage
14. Have working knowledge of 6 sigma, GR&R, SPC, DoE
15. Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100D, ISO14001 and ISO45001
16. Degree, HNC or equivalent with engineering content
