As a valued member of our team, you’ll receive comprehensive training and mentorship, equipping you with the skills and expertise to establish a long-term career in mobility and wheelchair provision.
Starting with an introductory period shadowing experienced staff and gaining insight into mobility sales and customer service, you will gradually develop specialised technical skills. You’ll be involved in servicing and supplying a wide range of mobility equipment, including wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and care equipment such as hoists and beds, helping to enhance the quality of life for individuals with mobility challenges.
Technical Support: Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance of wheelchairs and mobility equipment.
Customer Service : Deliver exceptional customer service by demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and respect when addressing clients’ inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
Training and Development : Actively participate in hands-on training and organised sessions to master equipment setup, adjustment, fitting, and maintenance procedures.
Develop an in-depth understanding of a variety of mobility equipment, including wheelchairs, scooters, and walking aids, to help clients make informed choices to select the most suitable equipment for their needs.
Accurately document repairs, maintain job sheets, and monitor inventory levels to ensure efficient workflows and high-quality service.
Flexibility and Teamwork : Support broader team operations, including assisting in the mobility shop, handling customer deliveries, and adapting to the evolving needs of a small, dynamic team.
Assist with annual and interim stocktakes as required.
Comply with all company policies and safety stands being fully accountable and trustworthy for all aspects of your role.
You will be working in a workshop as part of Wicker Independent Living mobility store and in the community at customer homes and care settings.
Support the assessment of clients’ mobility needs and recommend tailored wheelchair solutions to ensure optimal comfort, functionality, and mobility for each individual.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities, with a keen interest in learning technical skills related to wheelchair customisation and maintenance.
Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks, with a commitment to upholding quality standards and ensuring client satisfaction.
Willingness to undergo training and pursue continuous professional development opportunities in the field of mobility equipment provision.
Full Driving Licence
Ideally qualified to GCSE level / NVQ level 1 or equivalent.
