Dynamic and proactive Quality Manager with demonstrable Health, Safety and Environmental knowledge and experience required by our unique sector high volume plastics-processing specialist client.
Our client is recognised internationally as a market leader in the design, development and manufacture of filling and packaging solutions allied to the sealant and adhesives sector and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and proactive Quality Manager to complement their established and professional team.
Reporting to the senior management team, the successful Quality Manager will be tasked with both maintaining and improving quality performance across all aspects of the high volume production business, and duties will include (but not be limited to):
1. Investigating all ways and methods to reduce internal and external rejects.
2. Monitoring and analysing existing procedures and where possible implementing improvements.
3. Ensuring adherence to all company procedures by using your Managerial authority.
4. Providing monthly quality figures and recommendations to enable the Management team to judge Quality performance.
5. Maintaining cost of quality figures for display on the notice boards.
6. Ensuring appropriate Health & safety audit procedures are maintained and introducing new H & S audit regimes where they may be required.
7. Investigating gauging to check conformity to standards and implementing improvements as required and reviewing all gauges to ensure suitability, accuracy and relevance.
8. Maintaining compliance to ISO whilst staying abreast of updates and advising the company of its’ obligations as well as the ramifications of non-compliance
9. Introducing methods along with accountabilities to speed up QA checks whilst maintaining improved quality performances.
10. Acting as the main point of contact with both customers and suppliers in order to ensure any quality related issues are addressed.
To be considered for this varied and challenging position it is envisaged that the successful candidate will realistically demonstrate at least 4 years previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing QHSE Management role, and will be a skilled communicator at all levels, ensuring the workforce adhere to relevant company and industry wide regulations and adopting a flexible approach in supporting other areas of the business as may be required.
Demonstrable experience gained within a high-volume plastic injection moulding, plastic processing or plastic packaging environment will prove distinctly advantageous.
Other responsibilities will include maintaining the appropriate level of trained First Aiders to allow the company to operate legally and ensuring training in Quality & H & S procedures for all relevant areas is maintained.
