The role is across two bases supporting service delivery in Bicester GP Out of Hours/First aid unit in Bicester Community Hospital and the Fiennes Centre GP Out of Hours team on the Horton Hospital site Banbury. Both bases form part of our wider network of Unscheduled care services including the Minor Injury Units in Abingdon, Witney and Henley and the GP Out of Hours Service in Oxford, Witney and Henley. As a clinically credible and highly visible Emergency Practitioner, you will work closely with the leadership team to drive forward clinical practice across your assigned areas. You will work within the local healthcare system to promote the delivery of the right care, right place, at the right time by the most appropriate clinician. Main duties of the job As the Clinical Lead for the Bicester First Aid Unit/Out of Hours and Banbury Out of Hours Service you will provide operational and clinical leadership to both sites to provide the following Effective, compassionate, and inclusive leadership and line management of staff Clinical audit with a focus upon driving high standards of care Support to the infection and prevention and control team to ensure excellent IPC standards are achieved and maintained Work closely with the quality and patient safety teams to ensure that safe and effective patient care is delivered, and learning taken forward Lead the clinical development of the services in line with national guidelines and developments in the evidence base Ensure arrangements are in place for all service members to receive regular supervision, performance development review and training needs identified and where possible, met Lead & motivate staff to provide a pro-active and responsive high-quality service, contributing to ongoing audit and evaluation. Ensure that the necessary systems & protocols for the delivery of a safe & supportive service are in place, understood & adhered to throughout the Service. Ensure that effective communications systems are established, maintained and monitored regularly within the Service & between the Teams & other services/agencies/partners.
