The Early Intervention in Psychosis team sits within the CAMHS service and offers assessment, treatment and evidence based therapeutic interventions to individuals aged 14-18 yrs. The service works with people who are experiencing a First Episode Psychosis or deemed to have ‘at risk mental states’ (ARMS) or are ‘ultra high risk’ (UHR) of developing psychotic illnesses. The post including promoting early intervention for psychosis within the community, liaising with CAMHS staff and other agencies including Education, Social Care and the voluntary sector. We are looking for a professionally qualified (RMN, SW, OT)and suitably experienced band 6 Care Co-Ordinator with experience of working with young people to join our vibrant specialist CAMHS psychosis service. The team works collaboratively with individuals and their families who experience first episode psychosis within a bio psychosocial / spiritual and recovery-based approach. We work in a multidisciplinary team approach and with excellent formal and informal support to help you manage your workload. Caseloads are set at manageable levels and we offer regular clinical and management supervision along with developmental opportunities relating to our specialist approaches e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy, family interventions, physical health, including various in house skills based training to include vocational and psychosocial interventions. Extensive regular travel across the district is a requirement of the role in order to successfully undertake the range of duties specified within the job description. Therefore, it is an essential that applicants have the ability to travel regularly across the district to meet the needs and demands of the service. The role will involve a primary responsibility for joint assessment of young people referred to the service and the care coordination of a group of service users with a ‘First Episode of Psychosis’ or ‘At Risk Mental State’. The Early Intervention Service spans the age ranges of 14-35yrs, with this post primarily working within the CAMHS age range and service. The role is for 4 days per week and will involve assessment, formulation and signposting onto appropriate services, alongside planning and providing packages of care for individuals and their families. The role also offers the opportunity to develop some service development skills. As the service is expanding, the individual will support the development of pathways into the service through partnership with a range of services. There will also be the opportunity to supervise other members of the team.
