The role We are seeking a detail-orientated and analytical IT Service Management Reporting Analyst to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards that provide data-driven insights related to IT performance, delivery, and service levels. Additionally, you will manage aspects of the IT budget, including raising and receipting purchase orders, tracking monthly expenditure, and ensuring costs align with budgetary allocations. Key responsibilities Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from various sources and IT systems to support reporting and budgeting processes. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency by cleaning and validating data before analysis. Analyse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights related to IT delivery, SLAs, KPIs, incidents, problems, changes, products, and IT services. Report Development and Delivery: Design, develop, and generate reports based on stakeholder requirements. Create automated, interactive, and visually appealing reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and ITSM tools. Develop high-level reports for senior management, including Operations Committees, highlighting key IT metrics and strategic insights. Maintain operational reports and dashboards to track performance and service levels. Enable self-service reporting by creating interactive dashboards for IT teams. Financial Activities: Manage IT department budget by monitoring and tracking monthly spend against allocated budget. Raise and receipt purchase orders in accordance with budgetary guidelines. Track and report on variances between actual and forecasted spend, providing recommendations to manage any discrepancies. Work closely with the finance team to ensure proper coding and categorisation of expenses within the IT budget. Prepare financial reports related to IT spend, supporting IT leadership and finance teams with accurate and timely budget-related information. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and finance teams to understand reporting and budgeting needs. Present findings and insights to key stakeholders, including budget reports and IT performance metrics. Provide recommendations to improve business processes, performance, or decision-making based on data insights. Partner with IT managers to understand their analytical needs and help develop appropriate measurement frameworks. Data Integrity and Quality: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of IT data used for both reporting and budgeting. Develop and maintain documentation for data sources, methodologies, and reporting processes. Implement data quality checks and automated monitoring systems to ensure reporting accuracy. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline IT data collection, reporting, and financial management processes. Recommend and implement tools and techniques to improve reporting efficiency and budget monitoring. Preferred Skills and Experience Key Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyse both IT data and financial information. Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with ITSM tools and platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or similar) to create automated reports and dashboards. Knowledge of financial processes, including budget tracking, purchase orders, and cost management. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and financial insights clearly. High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Qualifications & Experience Proven experience in a data or reporting analyst role, within an IT environment. Experience working with IT datasets, such as incidents, changes, and delivery metrics. Experience managing or supporting IT budgets, including tracking spend and raising purchase orders. Knowledge of ITIL processes and frameworks (desirable but not essential). Familiarity with IT systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or equivalent) is a plus.
