Supply Desk are seeking SEND teaching assistants for a Special Needs School in Portsmouth.
Starting from September 2025 on a long-term contract
Pay – £75-£85* dependant on experience
Hours – 8:30 to 3:30

Supply Desk are proud to represent a Special Education School that works with children from the ages of 7 – 16 in different sites around the Portsmouth area. This school is looking for several SEND teaching assistants to support either 1:1 or in small groups.

Job Description
* Desire to work throughout Key stage 2, 3 and 4 (7-16 year olds)
* Working with small groups delivering interventions such as Reading, Maths and Literacy
* Experience working with children with SEND (particularly ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs)
* Patience, empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of humour
* Clear and effective communication skills
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to individual pupils' needs
* Holding a relevant qualification or willingness to undertake training
Who are you?
* Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, under the guidance of class teachers and the SENDCo
* Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
* Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
* Collaborating with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external professionals
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and communication skills in learners
