Mechanical Supervisor

Job Purpose:
The position will be based on-site, with primary responsibility for ensuring the technical feasibility of the project activities, or specific components of those activities. You will engage in managing health and safety, quality, environmental considerations, and commercial aspects of the project. Additionally, you will support the service in collaborating with both internal and external contractors to ensure successful project completion.
Duties:
* Collaborate with team members and management to establish timelines and labour needs.
* You will need to address mechanical problems as they arise.
* Collect data regarding the mechanical installation and anticipate any potential issues.
* Develop a comprehensive energy monitoring plan.
* Supervise plumbers/pipefitters or mechanical subcontractors.
* Conduct mechanical site safety audits and finalise mechanical documentation.
* Ensure that plumbers/pipefitters adhere to safe working practices and mechanical safety regulations on site.
* Ensure plumbers/pipefitters job sheets are collected.
* Confirm that all necessary documentation is completed as required.
* Keep the Outlook calendar updated.
* Provide daily reports on site issues or progress.
* Support teams in resolving emerging issues.
* Fill in for other supervisors as needed.
* Identify corrective measures and implement strategies to enhance productivity.
* Ensure that necessary materials and supplies are identified, procured, and delivered promptly to reduce project delays while maintaining inventory records.
* Uphold effective health and safety protocols, including conducting risk assessments, preparing method statements, and leading toolbox talks.
* Perform any additional duties pertinent to the position.
Education/Skills:
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Good diagnostic skills are essential as well as the ability to design solutions for any remedial works on mechanical systems across a range of buildings.
* Good literacy skills.
* City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in mechanical services or equivalent.
* CSCS/JIB card.
* SSSTS or SMSTS.
* Safety Level 1 course.
* Proactive thinking with an enthusiastic character.
* Well organised and able to meet deadlines.
* Excellent people management skills
