About our Team
Our team is instrumental in providing legal oversight and support for all legal matters for the global technology team supporting RX's in-person events.
About the Role
As Legal Counsel, you will provide legal support to internal clients to proactively manage legal risks and implications of our technology procurement and digital solutions development activities. Your skills and expertise will be crucial in guiding our global technology function that supports RX’s in-person events. This position will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel, based in the United States of America.
Responsibilities
* Providing legal oversight and counseling internal clients on a wide variety of technology matters, including procurement of goods and services and the development of digital and information analytics solutions.
* Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting a range of contracts and other legal documents, including technology purchasing and license agreements.
* Working closely with digital solution product teams to provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues, and propose practical, business-oriented solutions for business and legal matters and compliance with applicable laws.
* Drafting license and terms of service for websites and digital tools and providing processes and guidance to in-house counsel colleagues to address customer questions.
* Coordinating with Privacy and Information Security teams to ensure personal data and confidential information is collected, used, and secured in accordance with the law and company policy.
* Maintaining and presenting, to senior leaders, legal risks and issues in the technology development process and overseeing effective mitigation.
* Maintaining an awareness and understanding of the latest developments in the law and technology as they relate to technology procurement and digital services.
* Coordinating, when necessary, with in-house and specialist counsel and technology procurement colleagues in foreign jurisdictions.
Requirements
* Proven legal experience practicing procurement and technology law, preferably in a corporate law department or for multi-national corporations and familiar with data privacy regulations.
* Product services counsel and regulatory experience with building and supporting technology solutions.
* Understanding of how to assess, develop, launch and scale enterprise-focused products.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to expeditiously identify, prioritize, and analyze issues and provide legally sound recommendations consistent with good business practices and reason.
* Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with clients located around the world and work diplomatically with individuals at all levels.
* Ability to foster relationships and individual accountability across the organization and with individuals in many different countries.
* Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and to facilitate the implementation of creative solutions.
* Ability to work independently, take ownership of and effectively resolve problems.
* Ability to stretch and improve established thinking, processes and systems to improve collaboration and efficiency.
* Be admitted with at least four years relevant post qualification experience.
