We are looking to recruit Senior Therapy Assistants to join our dynamic Older Persons Therapy Team at Poole Hospital, UHD. We are offering static full time and part time positions.
Within the acute setting, the Older Persons Services (OPS) Therapies team assess and manage patients that present in the Emergency Department, the Older Persons Admissions/Short Stay Unit, and the Older Persons Medical wards including complex care wards within Poole Hospital. There will be opportunity to rotate across assessment and wards areas. As a team, we are passionate about ensuring that any older people presenting to our acute hospital receive the highest quality care from clinicians with a holistic and rehabilitative approach.
You will work alongside qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver combined therapy treatment programmes, support discharge planning for inpatients, and undertake essential non-clinical roles to support the smooth running of the service.
Base Location: Poole Hospital

Person Specification
Qualification
* GCSE Grade C or above in English Literature/Language
Experience
* Previous employment in a health or social care setting (or equivalent) in a care/ facilitation/ support role
* Previous Occupational Therapy Assistant/ Physiotherapy Assistant/ Speech and Language/ Dietetic Assistant or Rehab Assistant or Healthcare Assistant experience
* NHS experience
Skills
* Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
* Good personal organisational skills including time management
* Ability to work under pressure
* Management of a caseload
Language Requirement
* Ability to speak English as necessary to undertake the role
Other requirements
* Possession of a clean UK driving licence
* Ability to travel to all Trust locations to carry out post
