About the Role: We are currently seeking a full time Deputy Safety Manager to join our dynamic team. The Deputy Safety manager is a key member of the 2Excel Group Ltd Safety team. This role is responsible for coordinating the day to day running of the Safety Management System (SMS) in relation to Part 145 operations, primarily based at Lasham Airfield, Hampshire but with a requirement to travel to other sites as required. Key responsibilities include: Deputise as required for the Group Safety Manager in their absence. Conduct investigations of Safety Incidents in a thorough and timely manner. Establish and manage the elements of the embedded SMS programme e.g. training, regular meeting schedules, one-to-ones, safety promotion, staff development etc. Work closely with company Health and Safety Manager to maintain a comprehensive hazard and risk register for the site. Ensure standardisation of Group Safety processes across the site. Facilitate risk assessment of processes that could pose a significant potential risk to Safety. The DSM shall interact with operational personnel, senior managers and departmental heads throughout the organisation. Developing appropriate networks and opportunities for the exchange of safety information with Industry forums and associations. Assists in the continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment, and management of change within the organisation’s SMS. Analyses data for trends related to hazards, and occurrences. Conduct safety surveys and cultural assessments to ensure the workforce’s understanding of SMS continually matures and remedial actions are taken to ensure the existence of a positive safety culture. Produce articles for publication for Group Safety and company publications. About you: You'll already be working in an aviation environment with sound knowledge of UK and European Aviation Regulations, particularly with regard to Part 145. Ideally you'll already have experience within a aviation safety role, so you'll be a Safety Investigator ready to take the next step or an established Deputy Safety Manager looking for a new challenge. However, you may be working in another aviation role and have the transferrable skills required to take on a role within the Safety team. Either way, you'll have sound knowledge of safety management principles and practices, excellent leadership skills and ability to communicate and build a rapport at all levels of the organisation. You'll be a strong IT user, with the ability to use the full Microsoft suite. Working knowledge of Centrik would be a significant advantage. You'll have a flexible approach with a willingness to get stuck in and travel as required.
