This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly varied and fast paced environment with extensive engagement with the Ministers, First Minister, NHS Boards, local government and external stakeholders in Scotland, the UK and internationally. You will lead the Residential Rehabilitation and Tier 4 Services Team which is one of three teams in our Delivery and Support Unit in the Drugs and Alcohol Policy Division. The Team is undergoing some structural change and so the post will ideally be supported by 1 new Senior Policy Officer and 2 existing Policy Officers. Residential treatment and recovery services are a key pillar of our 5-year National Mission to reduce deaths and improve the lives of people impacted by substance use. The policy is responsible for around £100 million of funding committed over five years to increase residential capacity and meet a target for referral numbers. Responsibilities Responsibility for meeting high profile ministerial objectives in relation to increasing access to Residential Rehabilitation. Strategic oversight and programme coordination of three externally commissioned projects as part of the residential rehabilitation programme; working closely with key stakeholders and the Chair of the Residential Rehabilitation Development Working Group. Development of the post-2026 work plan for residential rehabilitation and other Tier 4 (residential) services. Oversight and implementation of investment of the residential rehabilitation budget. Policy development to ensure pathways into and from residential rehabilitation are clear, consistent and easy to navigate. Represent the residential Team at the Residential Rehabilitation Development Working Group to manage the successful delivery of recommendations, working with a wider range of stakeholders. Oversee Ministerial support activities for the team including providing official support to Ministers at events across Scotland, usually with significant media presence.
