Description
To support the Purchase Ledger Supervisor in making timely payments to the Hub suppliers within the bounds of company policy. Support the cash outflow team and provide cover when needed. The Purchase Ledger Assistant works closely with the finance team and other departments to support the smooth operation of the company's financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Input, review and file invoices submitted for payment.
2. Apply the correct VAT treatment to all payments.
3. Set up payments for authorisation ensuring all payments are backed up with the appropriate documentation.
4. Ensure accounts details are kept secure in line with GDPR guidelines.
5. Update supplier details when needed within Xero.
6. Approve level one payments in accordance with hub policy.
7. Ensure all payments are coded appropriately.
8. Maintain accurate and up to date purchase ledger records.
9. Ensure timely payment of invoices to suppliers.
10. Communicate with external vendors and suppliers.
Key Requirements
1. A degree or A-levels in a relevant subject such as Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics.
2. Experience in an accountancy background preferred.

1. Strong organisational skills, motivation, and proficiency in using computers.
2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
3. Comfort and liking of numbers.
